Client: Jacqui – Director, leading a branch office.
Goals
Through meetings with the client, the programme sponsor and a 360˚ assessment undertaken with six colleagues, four goals emerged:
1. Broaden Jacqui’s range of leadership styles, particularly at the more democratic end of the spectrum.
2. Focus more on the people in the team, rather than numbers. Allow your human side to show.
3. Improve self awareness and understanding of how her mood/ behaviour impact colleagues and develop ways of putting this to positive use.
4. Devise and execute a strategy to improve the financial performance of the branch office.
Actual Outcomes
The effectiveness of the programme was measured by a 360˚ assessment at the end of the programme mirroring that carried out before the start.
Jacqui is now seen as a much more human and approachable leader - her professional and personal advice is regularly looked for by staff. The atmosphere is much lighter and more enjoyable. The office strategy was well designed and carried out effectively, leading to a near doubling of profitability as a result of both top line improvements and cost efficiencies.
As the programme reached its end, Jacqui was offered a substantial promotion and is now overall director of ten branches.
